I'd like to introduce myself as a dreamer who wants to make a difference in the world through his work.
I’m a passionate software engineer with a strong love for Go (Golang) as well as Ruby on Rails, specializing in high-performance applications and efficient microservices using gRPC. With a solid grasp of MVC, OOP, algorithms, and data structures, I thrive on solving complex problems and crafting clean, maintainable code. Currently, I’m focused on enhancing my system design skills to build scalable, robust solutions that tackle complex business challenges.

Professional Experience

  • Auditing and inventory management tool

Tools & technologies: Ruby, Rails, Mysql, React-redux
It is a web-based application that is mainly used for fuel management and tax calculations by a European oil company. I'm the sole developer working on this project, also it is the my current project. My responsibilities in this project are as follows:
    • Understand and analyze client requirement.
    • Design, develop, and maintain server-side logic.
    • Implement required features.
    • Create RESTful API as per requirement.
    • Go through code to understand the system.
    • Make changes in frontend when need arise.
    • Wrote code for several core and integral features.
    • Consult with solution architect to fix any potential flaw.
  • Web-based service for event organizers

Tools & technologies: Ruby, Rails, Mysql, Rsync, EC2
It is a web-based application that streamlines the registration and payment processes for event organizers. My responsibility was to update the language and database, along the way I did the following:
    • Updated the ruby version from 1.8.7 to 1.9.3
    • Updated mysql version 5.8 to 8
    • Fixed segmentation fault caused by mysql2 gem due to version mismatch.
    • Fixed UTF issues.
    • Wrote bash script to transfer database from old server to new on.
    • Wrote cronjobs in new server.
    • Deployed to new server after upgradation with capistrano.

Attended Events

National Collegiate Programming Contest (NCPC)

Hosted by MIST

It was the first NCPC particiaption in my competitive programming career. More than 200 teams from different universities attended the contest. Sadly, we failed to achieve our objective to be in top 40 as our preparation was not up to the mark. And, the next month the lockdown began due to pandemic.

February 2020

Redesign 2020

Hosted by IIT, Dhaka University

It was a business case competition centered on information and technology. We were given a situation including two competing products. There, we had to create and outline a strategy for how the target product may outperform its opponent. We advanced to the final round among six other teams from other universities.

November 2020

BITFEST KUET IUPC 2019

Hosted by KUET

So far, I have had the nicest experience at KUET IUPC. We finished 36th out of 110+ teams. I solved one problem and discovered a bug that AC'd another once the bug was fixed. It was the most enjoyable IUPC for me.

September 2019

IUT 10th TechFest 2019

Hosted by IUT

This was my first onsite team contest outside of my university, it was same for my teammates too. We were very excited about it. In this contest we solved 3 problems together and ranked 65th out of 140+ teams if I recall correctly.

April 2019

Online Judges

Solved 600+ problems on Uva, Codeforces, Hackerrank, CodeChef, etc. Have 220+ solve on UVa under the username warhammer3271 and got 4 silver star on Hackerrank.

Data & Access Management
  • Core Functionality: CRUD operations for companies
  • Access Control: CanCancan gem
    • Role-based access control
    • User permission management

The project involves creating a Ruby on Rails API application using Ruby 3.0.0 and Rails 7, with a Postgres database and Postman for testing. The focus is on building a lean Rails API project. It includes setting up Devise for authentication and using Devise-JWT for handling JSON Web Tokens. Additionally, the project implements rate limiting using Rack-Attack to control API request rates. CRUD operations are built for managing companies, and access control is implemented based on user roles such as manager, admin, customer using the Cancancan gem.

BeeSmart

Android Game

I developed this android game using Unity and C#. Aside from assets like fonts, music, etc I wrote all of the code, mechanisms, logics, and algorithms myself. It has Microsoft's playfab api in the backend that handles the leaderboard. There are two leaders board on is weekly updated across the globe another is the all time leaderboard.
The popular game 'Hangaroo' inspired this creation. We have largely concentrated on Bangladesh-related subjects. We attempted to cover everything from sports to historical landmarks to political history in this game. I had to use free materials such as fonts, music, and other works created by many artists.

Survivabot

Android Game

This game was developed with C# and Unity for submission in codejam organized by BrainStation23. I had coded the entire thing in three days. In this game, I tried my best to write maintainable code accordingly to the OOP good practices and conventions.
In this project too, assets like models, music, fonts were available for free. I wrote code from scratch so that they can together come off as a fun game. The player has to survive infinite waves of enemies. He can run, shoot and jump.

Interests

Aside from being a programmer, I’m also a big fan of open-source software, having embraced the Linux philosophy and community over the past years. And when it’s time to unwind, I love catching up on TV series, with “The Boys” being my latest obsession.

When I’m not coding, you’ll find me diving into the fascinating realms of politics, history, religion, and culture through my favorite books. If only reading could pay the bills, I might just consider engineering my plan B! 😁.
